Sell your osteological specimens to Skulls Unlimited

I Have a Skull For Sale

Do you have a skull, skeleton, or osteological specimen you'd like to sell? Skulls Unlimited International purchases specimens from private collectors, hunters, estates, institutions, and individual sellers around the world. We are always looking to expand our inventory with high-quality, legally obtained material.

What We Buy

We are interested in purchasing a wide range of osteological material, including:

  • Clean, dry skulls from mammals, birds, and reptiles
  • Complete or partial articulated skeletons
  • Antlers, horns, and tusks
  • Teeth, claws, and other skeletal elements
  • Fossil casts and paleontological replicas
  • Rare or unusual specimens of significant scientific interest
  • Large collections from estates, retiring collectors, or institutions

What We're Especially Looking For

While we review all submissions, we are particularly interested in:

  • Uncommon or exotic species — specimens that are difficult to source through standard channels
  • Exceptional condition — fully intact, professionally cleaned, with all teeth and fine structures present
  • One-of-a-kind specimens — unusual size, pathology, age, or provenance
  • Large lots — if you have a collection of 10+ specimens, we're very interested

Legal Requirements

All specimens must be legally obtained and transferable under applicable local, state, federal, and international law. This includes compliance with:

  • CITES — Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species
  • MBTA — Migratory Bird Treaty Act (applicable to bird specimens)
  • ESA — Endangered Species Act
  • All applicable state and local wildlife regulations

If you are unsure whether your specimen can be legally sold, please contact us and we'll help you determine the right course of action. We cannot purchase specimens that lack proper legal documentation.

How to Submit

The process is straightforward:

  1. Describe your specimen — species, condition, measurements, and any known provenance or history.
  2. Send photos — clear photos from multiple angles, including the top, sides, underside, and any areas of note (pathology, damage, markings).
  3. Get a quote — our team will review your submission and respond with a purchase offer, typically within 3–5 business days.
  4. Ship your specimen — if you accept our offer, we'll provide packing instructions and a prepaid shipping label.
  5. Get paid — payment is issued upon receipt and verification of the specimen.
