Amphimachairodus giganteus was a large, prehistoric sabertooth cat that lived during the late Miocene, around 9 to 5 million years ago. It was one of the largest machairodonts, resembling a mix between modern big cats and later sabertooths, with elongated, serrated canine teeth adapted for precision killing. Likely an ambush predator, it hunted large herbivores across open woodlands and grasslands of Eurasia and Africa.
